Excuses.

30 06 2009

To be perfectly honest I hate people who make excues for themself.

Today during The BIGGEST LOSER, this pair made excuses to notfinish the challange when they lost. But the thing is even the two other pairs did not win but they still finished their challange. Finish what you started. No matter ho hard, difficult or time consuming it is.

Also, I was helping out some friends with their school play today. Many made excuses that they were nervous and couldnt do as instructed. I pulled them apart and worked one on one. The shy one that had a chunk of lines could do it more easily than he previously did and the other could beat box ( which is so cool) and he did not want to do it cause it was ‘embarrasing’. He ended up doing as suggested after he beat boxed for 36 seconds straight. He kept saying he could not. But he did! sigh….

excuses. a trick of the mind to tell you that you cant.

Success as a team

16 03 2009

Today, I have made myself very happy and proud. I have relised the key to my potential sucess. The key to success in a team is team bonding. I got a lot of work done over the past 2 days then in the last 2 weeks cause I played bonding games and now everyone loves the game Blow Wind Blow. It is basically a game where a team will learn more about others. And every practise we put some time away to play the game. This bonds everyone and energises everyone too. People will be more productive and happier and when I have a happy cast, I am a happy director.

Yeah. Team bonding will equate team productivity.

Why I’m being Nasty

14 03 2009

I am currently directing a play for my church. And it is now lent and the play will be held on Good Friday. Soif you guessed that it is a play about theb passion of Christ, DING DING DING, you are absolutely correct.

Now the thing is people are asking me why am I so hard on myself? Why am I so critical? I’ll tell you why. I am under the age of 20! I am directing a play that the youth are helping to do. Anything goes wrong during the play or if I get any complaints it is MY HEAD ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK. Not my actors, not my asistant directors. MINE.

Anyone wanna see me head less?

I need to show the priest of this church that I can be responsible, that the youth can be responsible.

If I don’t show that now, who will?

Control

10 03 2009

Do you really believe in control?

What is control in the first place?

Sometimes I wonder why I use dictionary.com
Well, in any situation, you have a certain about of control. However, the only thing you can control is yourself. Your feelings, your thoughts and your actions. You can’t control the actions of others.
If you could….well we can only imagine.
Well, it is all that we can only do. Once we let out thoughts come under our control, we can further understand ourselves and control our efforts to making a situation work out. We can only wait for a reaction for the other party.
Don’t control the world, control yourself.

International Women’s day

10 03 2009

Last Sunday, 8 of March, was International Women’s Day and since it was a special day, I wanted to do a special post on a special lady. Sadly, I wasn’t very much inspired. However, on International Women’s Day, instead of embracing the joys of being a woman, my cousin, a friend and myself exposed our flaws, faults and regrets that we, as women, have made.

Many of what that conversation is secret and will remain secret. However, the fact that we didn’t celebrate our womanhood to me came as a shock. We did one thing no woman has the pleasure of doing.

Accepting her flaws. Her faults. The things in her life she wishes she could change. Ladies, come on. We all have to admit it someday. Why not sooner? We aren’t perfect. We are fully human.

On international woman’s day, while many spent their day enjoying being a woman, I embraced that I am not perfect. That I have flaws. The sooner I told myself that, the better I felt. So ladies, what if you have a bad hair day? Or if everyone you are working with thinks you have this major crush on your colleague? You are merely a human being.

In the past women weren’t given high expectations. Now, we try to reach expectations which are beyond us. You are human. Not an alien. Not a superhuman. A NORMAL human being, stop living up to the expectations of others and always do the right thing.

Now, if you can excuse me. I need to go practise what I preach.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don’t ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve

Yeah, it is accurate. Me is just up there right now, exposed to the world.

I’m dramatic too by the way! lol

What it takes to be a leader!

21 02 2009

Every time my principal talks to my school, she always mention the words ‘leader’ and ‘inspire’ and she will always throw in the occassional ‘please girls!’ I guess, my the reactions of my school mates, that most find her morning lectures are scholdings. I would beg to differ. Ms Martens ( a principal like this deserves credit doesn’t she?) has granted us our greatest wish we wanted for years. To be treated like an adult, to be treated with some maturity. And by the looks of it, many still think we did something wrong.

I love it when my Principal or Vice-Principal talks to us. I don’t take them as boring lectures about our behaviour or our attitude. Most of the time I don’t see it as we did something wrong. In school, you are suppose to make mistakes and learn from them. No point NOT learning.

Back to my point. My principal always tells us to be leaders. Easy right?WRONG. According to her, to be a leader, you need to inspire, you need to be true, you need to be responsible. You need to have this long list of qualities to be a leader. Let me brea it down which I feel is the most important one.

You need to inspire. You need to motivate the people you are working with to do what you want them to do. You need to inspire for people to do something. Anything. This applies to everything and not just work and school. When you blog about inspiring things and situations and you make someone want to do something, you are a leader.

So go on everyone. Be leaders of the world.

Inspire. Roll

Rihanna got beat up…by Chris Brown

10 02 2009

Hey! POP QUIZ!

Who:

  • dated a guy younger than her
  • is really beautiful
  • started out with ‘unfaithful’
  • is a good girl gone bad.
  • got a really crazy haircut which might I add is fabulous!
  • one of my favorite artist.
  • got beat up by her ‘darling younger boyfriend’.

If you guessed Rihanna good for you.

Chris Brown beat her up! WHAT IN THE WORLD! THEY LOOKED GOOD TOGETHER! Why?

NO SHE DOESN’T WANT TO PRESS CHARGES!.

Dear Rihanna,

This coming from a dear fan and someone who actually cares about you, please please please press charges. What if he does it again? Lock him up! Throw away the key girl. You might be hurt inside and out but letting him go is not the answer. You might refuse to believe that he is capable of doing something like that but…

Lets just say I have a friend that went through a very simillar situation. Keeping quiet about it and not letting him be placed behind bars is never the answer. Put yourself first! What? You think orange is a bad colour on him? WHO CARES! Come on girl! I know you are alot smarter than that!

Sigh.

Think about it.
